I'd like to find a larger tank. Maybe 16 gallon.

RE: OPD a must on inboard tank?

I think that most motor homes have the OPD valves on them. I had a 1988 Mallard that had the OPD valve.

RE: experience replacing emergency brake assembly?UPDATE

I just looked at mine, it has disk breaks on all four wheels. I also checked the manual and it has ABS breaks on both axles.
From the sound of repair costs I think that I'm glad that the parking break is on the rear wheels.

RE: Hood won't close and No House Electric/gen working

The steps get their power from the engine battery. There's a switch near the door that in one position the steps open and close every time the door is opened/closed. In the other position they come out when the door is opened and close when the door is closed and the key is turned to start the engine.
Winnebago has a has a good web site and I think an owners help line. Just Google Winnebago.
We have an Itasca, that battery disconnect switch is easy to bump, I made a guard for ours. I think they can be purchased.

RE: AFTER MARKET ROTORS

When mounting a wheel/tire there's a sequence to tighten the lugs. If not followed the rotors can be warped.

RE: experience replacing emergency brake assembly?UPDATE

I have an 2002 E-350. The parking break is part of the rear breaks. I looked after reading on here a while back about the problems with the parking break at the out-put of the transmission.

Be sure that it is battery operated not battery back-up.

RE: Questions about dumping my holding tanks.

Winnebago has a very nice web site, you can down load plumbing and electrical drawings and maybe manuals. I forget how far back. just do a Google search.

At one time there was a plug you could take out and replace with a grease zerk.

RE: Electric scissor jacks?

I have a QTG that I would like to get rid of.
Dusty
What's a "QTG"??
QTG is Quick To Ground. It's a channel shaped beam with drop down jacks on the ends. It's made by BAL, stay-BAL-ization solutions. They also make the scissor jack and the power pack for the jack.

RE: soot on side of RV from using furnace

The burner needs more air. Best to have a furnace/LP burner service guy have a look. But you can have a look to see if the mud dobbers have been building nests in the air inlet. I've never noticed a furnace burner burning badly but have seen/heard many water heaters roaring away with too much air.

RE: Easiest way to drain HW tank??

I put the adjustable kit in a few years ago, liked it. This spring it quit, I've been looking for just the t-stat but can't find one. Guess I'll have to get a whole new kit.

RE: water running nonstop in commode

I had one doing that. I took it apart and it looked OK. Put it back together, it stilled leaked. Bought a rebuild kit and put in it. Problem solved.

RE: more efficient furnace

That in an interesting article about using the water heater for hydronic heating. I see it was published in 1992. I'm a little surprised that we have not heard/seen more about this.
A more efficient LP furnace could be built. Air being forced through the inside of the combustion chamber when the burner is off is a big waste of BTU's. I was just looking at ours last winter, snow birding. First I found that the sail switch is in the coach air side of the two sided fan, one motor. It seems to me that switch, for safety. There should not be any air flow through the inside, flame side, when the burner is not burning. I can see three different to stop this air flow, 1-two motors, 2-a clutch on the combustion fan, 3- a damper in/on the inlet of the combustion fan, or in the combustion air conduit be for the burner. A damper/shutter at the inlet of the fan would not add any load to the fan motor.

RE: dometic refrigerator

If the refrigerator has DSI, lights it's self, then it does not have a thermocouple, they are only used on a manual lit, standing pilot, one that burns continually. like Iv2urm said it's in the flame sensing circuit.

RE: Black water tank leak, need advice......

Now, the black water tank has two gallons of water in it, is there anyway I can empty that here?
Not sure where is, if at home, drain into a 5 gallon and dump pail in toilet in house.

RE: 2-12s vs 2-6's

When putting Two batteries is series you add the volts, thus two 6volt batteries at say 400 amps each, gives 12 volts at 200 amps. Two batteries in parallel you add the amps, thus two 12 volt batteries at 200 amps each, gives 12 volts at 400 amps. If both the 6 volt and 12 volt batteries are the same physical size, the two 6 volt will have a few more amps because there are fewer cell walls the total cell size is slightly larger. I still prefer two 12's.
